How do you incorporate certain business deductions that don’t run through my business bank accounts, such as home office expenses, or business mileage I’m tracking?
There are certain business deductions that you can write off that may not run through your business bank accounts. For example, working from home and writing off a percentage of your rent. Or tracking your business mileage. If you have exact dollar figures for these expenses, you can provide them to us at any time using the Add Transactions link in your Client Dashboard, and we can add them to your books. Or, and especially in the case of business mileage, you can provide these figures to your CPA at tax time so they can incorporate the deductions while preparing your taxes.
